Zane
Bouvette
President
Zane was first introduced to yurts on a camping trip
down the Oregon coast with his family in the summer of 1999. The
approximately 200 yurts within the Oregon State parks system kept
popping up like mushrooms all along his trip.
Having spent the previous seven years with
the number one recreational Real Estate company in British Columbia,
Zane recognized the many opportunities to introduce yurts to Canada.
The exchange rate between Canada and the United States
made it impossible to economically import yurts but presented
an opportunity to market yurts in the United States. Zane discussed
his ideas with his friend Frank Wingelman and Yurtco Manufacturing
was born.
Darin
Gradin
Vice-President
The challenging and demanding task of running Yurtco's
manufacturing plant is managed by Darin, who has over two decades
of experience in this industry.
Darin maintains high standards in everything he does,
and strongly believes in doing things right the first time. Never,
will Darin take a shortcut or go the fastest route if it might
degrade the quality of a product, and every yurt that leaves the
Yurtco plant reflects his attention to detail and workmanship.
Darin and his partners are proud to offer such an
innovative and unique structure to the many situations in which
yurts can be enjoyed.
Frank Wingelman - Co-Founder
Frank has been in the manufacturing business for
over 40 years. His specialty is in the area of custom metal fabrication
for the design and manufacturing of equipment used in the forest
industry. Frank was introduced to yurts by his friend, Zane Bouvette.
He began putting a team together to design and manufacture yurts
in Canada. His vision was to design and build yurts of the highest
quality and sell them at an affordable price.
Frank has successfully proven his vision. The raw
materials and other resources available in British Columbia, Canada
where Yurtco Manufacturing Inc. is located allow for both high
quality, hand-crafted manufacturing processes and affordable pricing.
Ray Fielding - Co-Founder
Ray has over 35 years experience in the construction
industry building and renovating commercial and residential buildings.
Ray has always worked with wood. Designing and building many different
products. Working with wood is Ray's passion and the designing
and building of yurts is something Ray enjoys doing. He can be
found in the plant each day, continuously looking for ways to improve
our products and manufacturing processes.
Away from Yurtco, Ray enjoys the
outdoors and whenever he can Ray heads to his ranch near Princeton,
BC. Located beside the Trans-Canada Trail on the old Kettle Valley
Rail Line there are plenty of things to do to keep Ray busy.
With a yurt on his property, Ray is able to show his guests what
yurt living is all about.
